Transfers from Savings Limited to Six
Federal Regulation “D” limits some methods of transfers you can make from a savings account during a calendar month. You may make no more than six transfers by using the following services:
- Pre-authorized (ACH) transfer
- Telephone request through Member Phone Services
- Touchtone Teller
- Online Banking
- Overdraft transfers
Star One is obligated to refuse or reverse any transfer which exceeds the limitation. However, automatic payments from savings to your loans are allowed. In addition, you may make unlimited transfers from your checking account. This includes ACH (Automatic Clearing House) requests for any payments. Transfers made at ATMs are also excluded.
Tip: You can use your Star One Visa Card for Overdraft Coverage. Doing so will stop overdraft transfers from your Savings Account where a $2 fee is charged.
Consider switching automatic payments you have set up from your savings account to your checking account instead, or set up new payments from your checking account. Save those six transfers for emergencies or accidental overdrafts.
