Wire Transfers
Outgoing Wires
Wire transfer is a service offered by Star One that allows you to send money as a one time transfer, from your Star One account to another financial institution’s account either domestically or internationally.
All wire transfer requests are subject to Star One approval. Call us at (408) 543-5202 or (866) 543-5202 to confirm the amount of your outgoing wire before you initiate your request, then complete the form. For your security we may use additional authentication methods to verify your identity. Star One processes domestic wires in US Dollars only.
In some circumstances, it can be more beneficial to send an international wire in the currency of the receiving country due to exchange rates. For more information about foreign exchange, call us at (408) 543-5202 or (866) 543-5202. It is important to note that if there are any errors on an international wire transfer sent in foreign currency, Star One may not be notified of any delay or problem for up to a week.
Star One will process outgoing international wire transfers through a US Correspondent Bank. With international wires, you can send the funds in U.S. Dollars or in the currency of the receiving country. Sending an international wire transfer is a two-step process. First, funds are sent to a US Correspondent Bank where they are converted into the foreign currency. Second, the foreign currency is wired to the Foreign Bank. For processing, we require the name and ABA/Routing number of the US Correspondent Bank, as well as the beneficiary’s name and account number, city, country, branch location, and Swift Code of the Foreign Bank. Normally, the Foreign Bank provides you with the necessary US Correspondent Bank information. The beneficiary bank is responsible for crediting the received funds. The actual amount received by the beneficiary may be reduced by charges imposed by the beneficiary bank.
To initiate an outgoing International wire transfer, please call us during regular business hours for information and instructions. Accuracy is very important when completing your request form. Incorrect or incomplete information can delay a wire transfer.
The Outgoing Wire Transfer Request Form is located in Online Banking behind the "Online Forms" tab.
