An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but as a service to you we pay it anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways.

We may pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be returned or declined.
Yes, if you have not been previously qualified for Courtesy Pay, first opt in to Courtesy Pay (#1 below) and then opt in to the Debit Card option (#2 below) to ensure your every day debit card transactions receive the same overdraft coverage as your checks and other items.

Please tell us if you want to keep debit-card overdraft coverage on your checking account(s). To keep your Courtesy Pay for everyday debit-card transactions, you must opt in using one of the following methods:
