Let's look out for you, together.

Designate a Trusted Contact to help us provide an extra layer of support for your account.

At Star One Credit Union, we take your account security very seriously as fraud, scams, and elder financial abuse continue to rise.

That’s why we offer you the option to designate a Trusted Contact on your accounts. While this is completely optional, having a Trusted Contact enables Star One to provide additional support when you need it most.

You can add, update, or remove your Trusted Contact anytime by reaching out to us. We’re here to help keep your finances safe and give you peace of mind every step of the way.

What is a Trusted Contact?

A Trusted Contact is someone you authorize Star One to contact if we have trouble reaching you, notice unusual account activity or need to confirm your well-being. They are not authorized to conduct transactions on your account, instead, they serve as an added contact to help keep you safe.

Why add a Trusted Contact?

  • Peace of mind – Rest easy knowing someone you trust can be contacted if needed
  • Fraud prevention – Allows us to contact someone you trust if we suspect scams or elder financial exploitation
  • Better communication – Ensures we can reach someone you trust if you are unavailable
  • Support during health crises or diminished capacity – A trusted contact can help the Credit Union reach you and can also assist with confirming the identity of a new legal representative, if applicable

Who should be a Trusted Contact?

A Trusted Contact should be a person who is:

  • Over the age of 18
  • Someone you know and trust completely (family members, close friends, attorneys or advisors)
  • Someone you can rely on to look out for your best interest
  • Someone you are comfortable with us contacting in case of suspicious activity or emergencies
  • Not a joint owner, trustee, Power of Attorney agent or legal guardian on the account
