Star One’s committed to fraud protection. But we need your help.
Caller-ID spoofing or phone spoofing
Fraudsters may impersonate Star One employees by spoofing a legitimate Star One phone number. Caller ID spoofing is a scam that makes a call appear to come from a trusted organization, such as your financial institution.
Scammers may claim there are suspicious transactions on your account and pressure you to share personal information. If this happens, hang up immediately.
Star One employees will never call you to ask for:
- Social Security Number
- Digital Banking login information
- Account or card information
- Security codes or one-time passcodes

Beware of fake websites and search ads.
Scammers sometimes create websites that closely mimic trusted organizations, including financial institutions, to steal usernames, passwords, and other sensitive information.
Be especially cautious when using search engines. Fraudsters may place deceptive ads that appear at the top of search results and lead to fake websites designed to look identical to legitimate ones.
Before entering your login credentials, always verify that you are on the official Star One website. A fake website may look convincing, but entering your username and password could give scammers access to your accounts and personal information.

Tips on keeping your accounts secure
Did you make all those purchases? If you see anything unusual or unexpected, report it right away.
Star One will never call or email you and ask for a password or one-time passcode. For an additional layer of protection, we will ask for your Secret Identifier when you call the Star One Contact Center. You can set up your Secret Identifier inside Digital Banking.
Mix uppercase and lowercase letters with numbers and symbols.
Avoid using a range of similar passwords. Keeping each unique helps prevent fraudsters from accessing all your accounts if one password is compromised.
Log into Digital Banking and select the "My Settings" link to do so.
