    Yes, as long as payment request meets the required cutoff time of 3:00 pm PST.
  • Will using this service to make a payment affect the scheduled transfers previously set up for a loan?
    No. A payment made using this service will not stop the previously scheduled transfer. Both payments will be applied and the loan due date will be advanced accordingly.
  • For payments made to a Visa, Personal Line of Credit or Home Equity Line of Credit account, would the excess payment amount (if applicable) be applied towards the next payment due date?
    No. Any excess payment amount will be applied towards the principal balance. The next payment amount is not determined until the next billing statement is generated.
  • How can I make an extra payment to be applied towards the principal balance?
    This is allowed as long as the principal-only payment is included with the regular payment. Any excess payment will be applied towards the principal balance. For example, if your mortgage payment is $2,674.62 and you want to pay $500.00 towards principal, enter a payment of $3,174.62 under “Other Amount.” The $500.00 will then be credited towards the principal balance.
  • What if I make a payment to the wrong account in error?
    Please call us as soon as the error is discovered for assistance.
  • If my loan is delinquent, is the late fee required to satisfy the minimum payment amount?
    This depends on the type of loan. For a real estate loan, the late fee is not required to satisfy the minimum payment due for that month; however, it will still be due. For a consumer loan (vehicle, Visa or personal loan), the late fee will be deducted from the minimum payment amount, which means a lesser amount will be applied towards the principal balance.

    Online Banking Account Transfers

    Transfers are in real time except when holds on your accounts prevent funds from being available.

    For transfers outside of normal business hours, your transfer will be posted using the next business date. A results message will appear after the transfer is processed. We recommend that you print the message for your records.


    Scheduled Transfers

    Set up money transfers for a later date between your Star One accounts and loans in Online Banking. Initiate a one-time transfer or a series of transfers. Have an e-mail reminder sent to you when the transfer is complete, if desired.

    In the Transfers menu, select "To/From My Accounts," then select the Scheduled tab.


    Cross-Member Transfers

    To move money to other accounts at Star One, select "To Other Members" in the Transfers menu in Online Banking.


    Restrictions on Savings Accounts

    "Reg D" limits the number of electronic transfers you may make from a savings account during a calendar month to six.

    This limit applies to Scheduled & Recurring Transfers set up in Online Banking, Mobile Banking, telephone transactions, and transactions requested through Secure Support.

    Requirements

    1. You must have an e-mail address set in your Profile in Online Banking "Settings."
    2. For Express Transfers, your source account must have been used in External Funds Transfer during the last 45 days and should not have had any failed transfers within the last 90 days.

    How to Set up Your Accounts for Transfers

    1. Go to "External Transfers" in the Transfers area of Online Banking and choose "Manage Accounts."
    2. Add the account number of the Star One checking or savings account that you wish to use—and the Star One ABA/Routing number: 321177968.
    3. Next add the account number and ABA/Routing number for the external account you will be transferring to or from.
    4. During the next day, watch for a small trial deposit and withdrawal in your Star One account (usually between $0.05 or $0.30).
    5. In your external account, also watch for a similar small trial deposit and withdrawal.
    6. Once you've received trial deposits in both of your accounts, return to External Funds Transfer in Online Banking
    7. Select the "Manage Accounts" area, and then the "Activate" button.
    8. Enter the correct amounts of your trial deposits to confirm that you own both accounts.
    9. External Funds Transfer is now activated and you can start moving money between these two accounts!

    If funds are not available in the source account, a $15 non-sufficient funds/overdraft fee will be charged.

    How are External Funds Transfers different from Bill Pay or Wire Transfers?

    External Funds Transfers require that you know the account number for an account at another financial institution.

    Therefore, you normally wouldn't use them to pay bills. Instead, use it to move money to and from your accounts at other institutions, such as your brokerage account, another bank account, or a minor's account.

    How to set up a Recurring ACH Transfer

    Simply submit the "ACH Recurring Authorization" form in the Forms area in Online Banking at least 10 days before you would like a new or existing payment or transfer to take place.

    Alternatively, print and complete our printable form and mail or deliver it to us.

    If your recurring payment or transfer date falls on a weekend or non-business day, your payment or transfer will occur on the business day prior to your requested transfer date.

    If funds are not available in the source account, a $15 non-sufficient funds/overdraft fee will be charged.

    Domestic Wires are sent within the United States in US Dollars only. A US Bank is a bank that is incorporated within the United States, or subject to Federal and State Banking Regulations, whose deposits are insured by an Agency of the Federal Government.

    To send a Domestic Wire, the following information is needed:

    • Receiving bank name, address and 9-digit ABA/Routing number and,
    • Recipient's name, address and account number.

    The Outgoing Wire Transfer Request Form is located in Online Banking in the Forms menu.

    Please note that the receiving institution may charge an additional fee for incoming wires.

    Unlike many institutions, Star One does not add a markup to the standard fee for foreign-currency wire transfers.

    We send funds in the receiving country's currency, unless the receiving account is specifically designated as a US Dollar account. This ensures compliance with regulatory requirements for remittance transfers.

    Prior to your wire being sent, Star One provides disclosures to you, which include details such as the rate of conversion to the foreign currency. For requests received by fax, the disclosure will be sent to the email address on record at Star One.

    A 30-minute waiting time applies before a wire transfer is sent, in case you wish to cancel.

    Outgoing international wire transfers are processed through a US Correspondent Bank. The recipient bank is responsible for crediting the received funds. The actual amount received by the recipient may be reduced by charges imposed by the recipient bank. For more information about foreign exchange, call us.

    It is important to note that if there are any errors on an international wire transfer sent in foreign currency, Star One may not be notified of any delay or problem for up to 10 business days.

    To initiate an outgoing international wire transfer, please call us during regular business hours for information and instructions. Accuracy is very important when completing your request form. Incorrect or incomplete information can delay a wire transfer.

    You have the right to cancel a remittance transfer and obtain a refund of all funds paid to us, including any fees. To cancel a remittance transfer, you must contact us within 30 minutes of payment for the transfer.

    When you contact us, you must provide us with information to help us identify the transfer you wish to cancel, including the amount and location where the funds were sent. We will refund your money within three business days of your request to cancel a transfer as long as the funds have not already been picked up or deposited into a recipient's account.

    You must contact us within 180 days of the date we promised to you that funds would be made available to the recipient. When you do, please tell us:

    • Your name and address or telephone number;
    • The error or problem with the transfer, and why you believe it is an error or problem;
    • The name of the person receiving the funds (recipient), and if you know, his or her telephone number or address;
    • The dollar amount of the transfer;
    • The confirmation code or number of the transaction.

    We will determine whether an error occurred within 90 days after you contact us and we will correct any error as soon as possible. We will tell you the results within three business days after completing our investigation. If we decide that there was no error, we will send you a written explanation. You may ask for copies of any documents we used in our investigation.
